And these bulging bellies do not mean at all that their owners are diligently preparing themselves for the joy of motherhood: on the right, the four future “mothers” sip beer, the two “pregnant” on the left blissfully drag out a cigarette, and the one that, right on the course, suddenly lazily rolled onto her stomach, literally flattening by its exorbitant weight a hypothetical child ...

Inwardly shuddering, I begin to feel an irresistible desire to see among this pot-bellied population a creature that even remotely resembles a Gogol moth. The same thing, with a waist “no thicker than a bottle neck” ... It’s just like the sellers of baklava and churchkhela start wandering around in the sand and stumbling over numerous bellies, mournfully offering subscriptions to fitness clubs and coupons for mesotherapy and vacuum massage sessions. But first I would like to decide what kind of waist it is, because its bright image managed to disappear from the mass consciousness.

Traditionally, in our country, women's waist has only one criterion - it is centimeters. If there is something on the female body that has a circumference of sixty centimeters, this “something” will be perceived as a waist! And many are sincerely sure that it is only worth losing weight ... and right away ... If you are of this opinion, I suggest you carefully look at photographs of ordinary girls who are close in weight and height to the very Simonetta Vespucci, who inspired Sandro Botticelli. What did not find the triangles of the waist?

Meanwhile, the reproductions of paintings by Rubens and Botero depict women more well-fed, but the waist nevertheless on their cellulite body is clearly visible. Therefore, the presence or absence of excess fat on the sides does not mean the appearance or disappearance of the waist.
