I’m sure that it’s not, since the attitude to myself and my life is made up of many factors, but above all, of a personal attitude to what is happening. He, in turn, is formed by public opinion, which in recent years has undergone significant transformations. Previously, the very ideal wife was considered to be a woman who is sitting at home, exclusively engaged in raising children and baking pies, but today the attitude of society towards such ladies has changed.
They are no longer perceived as the custodians of the family hearth, but rather as home-brewers who could not realize themselves in their careers. They are treated with pity, because what do they see, besides their four walls and rare journeys somewhere, when my husband miraculously has a vacation? And finally, what can you talk about with them, except about children's illnesses, borscht recipe or indoor plants care? In the eyes of husbands, such women certainly lose to the beautiful, confident, daring business ladies who work next to them in offices. Bright and paying attention to their appearance, they make men forget about wives who are in slippers and dressing gowns at home waiting for their arrival from work. And when the attention from the husband disappears, the woman’s interest in herself leaves. Why take care of myself if I don’t go out? Why buy beautiful clothes if nobody sees her anyway? And why, finally, try to do something with the relationship with the spouse, if he has long been all the same ...
Unfortunately, such situations happen incredibly often, breaking the fate of thousands of women and hundreds of families every year. The female housekeeper is not grateful, despite the tremendous work that she performs daily. The female housekeeper is not of interest, because she is always at home, and as a favorite sofa is very comfortable. A woman-housekeeper causes only sympathetic smiles from those same active and business ladies who are always in sight and are not going to give up their social role for diapers, cooking borsch and ironing shirts for her husband. But is this only the life of a housemaid today, or does a modern woman have other alternatives?
5 years ago, my life was fundamentally different from the real one. I was the same active lady who did not think for a minute about giving up “everything” and sitting in four walls. Work, career, active social life occupied all thoughts. Run, hurry up, catch up! Journalism, and then the work of a spokesperson, did not leave a minute of free time. Young, active, interesting, I was very pleased with myself. And suddenly, everything has changed.
I think I won’t make a discovery if I say that pregnancy and then the birth of my daughter divided my life into “before” and “after”. Where there was a "before" - everything seemed so bright, so attractive, so dull. What became “after” began to take on a gray tint for several months. Like a bucket of cold water, an understanding fell upon my head that something had happened to me that I most did not want. Here it is - the life of a housewife (even for the next couple of years), which is so sad, boring and of the same type. And here it is - the collapse of everything that has been achieved with such difficulty over the years of a professional career.
When the child was 10 months old, money in the family began to be sorely lacking. Then I took it as another round of the gray bar, but today I understand that it was this period that prompted me to search for the right solutions.And if it weren’t for him, perhaps I would become one of the hundreds of thousands of housekeepers, but everything turned out differently.
How can you start working and make money if you are sitting at home with a 10 month old baby? I was looking for answers. At some point, an understanding arose that in this life I did not know how to do anything. Well, or almost nothing, except that I can write. But journalism and the role of the mother of the infant are not compatible, so leaving my thoughts on the work of a journalist, I began to search for the application of my skills in the field of copywriting.
Having scanned dozens of sites in search of vacancies, I found several job offers at home. I must say right away that I also stepped on the same rake when I responded to vacancies "to do nothing and get paid for it." All of these ad views, click-throughs, and polls didn’t make any money, they just took time. I rejected the offers to “play on the exchange” right away, because I have no idea about the economy in general and making money on stocks and exchange rates in particular. I was looking for a clear and directional work that would allow me to write texts while at home and receive any payment for this. And quickly enough I found her.
So began my career as a copywriter, which allowed me to take a fresh look at my life. Work in the staff of a copywriting agency, then independent activity, cooperation with successful online studios and magazines - all this happened gradually, allowing me to learn the basics of a new profession for me. It turned out that the work of a copywriter is no less interesting than a journalist, even more multifaceted and informative. It turned out that in this work there are far more prospects than in journalism in my city. It turned out that, working at home, I can earn more than before. And at the same time, I continued to be at home, engaged in raising a child, shaping my work schedule in a way that is convenient for me.
Once I met a friend with whom we worked for several years to cover cultural events. Of course, the first thing she asked me was what I was doing. I replied that I was a housekeeper, to which I saw that same sympathetic smile. But she did not cause me any protest. Indeed, the understanding that I am not an ordinary housemaid, but a modern one, who not only sits at home, but works at home, has changed my attitude towards myself, my family, and life. Today it has everything that a socially active person needs: working on interesting projects, communicating with colleagues, many of whom have become good friends, learning new things literally every day. And at the same time I can devote much more time to my daughter, who went to kindergarten and began to get sick actively. I can pay more attention to my appearance, because I make money on it and plan the work schedule in a convenient way for myself. I can pay attention to a husband who, when he arrives home, does not see his tortured wife in a crumpled dressing gown, but a beautiful woman, busy not only with the house, but also with developing herself.
All this can and should be in the life of a modern housekeeper. And copywriting is far from the only occupation that can be mastered at home. Just think about what exactly you like to do the most, just evaluate your talents (and you have them!) And opportunities. It is important to understand what kind of work will be fun and to start working! And earnings, work schedule and career prospects - everything will definitely follow. And after a few months you will notice how gray colors and sad thoughts disappear from your life (there simply will not be time left for them). And the concept of a housemaid will not mean the spoiled life of an unhappy woman locked in four walls, but a new and interesting career, an ideal relationship with her husband and the opportunity to always be with her child.
