Olga Peshkicheva: “If you are consistent, a hobby will start to generate income”

“At the university they told us: only 7% of people are gifted with entrepreneurial talent. And a few years ago I didn’t assume that I was on this number! ”Says Olga Peshkicheva, a blogger and creator of one of the largest joint shopping sites in Russia. Maybe this economic education helped Olga to organize her own business, or maybe the voice of common sense, which insisted that you can not overpay for the things you get.

About ten years ago, a new way of acquiring goods began to gain fashion: without leaving home, choosing from a wide range, buying at a bargain price. This method is called “joint purchases” or simply a joint venture.

“Everyone regularly purchases clothes, shoes, cosmetics, hobby goods, and much more,” says Olga Peshkicheva. - Most are used to doing this in stores. But you can buy familiar or new products, cooperating with other customers and making orders via the Internet directly from the manufacturer at a wholesale, which means lower price. The organizer of this "cooperation" becomes an intermediary between customers and the supplier, he works for a fixed fee. This is a joint purchase.

“We want to buy from you!”

- It turns out that participation in the joint venture is beneficial to the buyer?

- For most products - yes, the purchase is cheaper. In a separate category, we allocated consumer goods without individual characteristics (common creams, shampoos, cleaning products, etc.): the price in the joint venture for them may not differ from the price in the supermarket simply because of the pricing peculiarities. However, the joint venture gives an advantage in the choice, expands the range. This is especially true for our customers living in villages where there are points of delivery of orders. There, the joint venture is often the only way to purchase something more than a meager set of goods in a rural store.

- Surely there are difficulties with purchases in this way?

- The main "minus" - the product can not be "felt", try on, try. It is not always possible to choose the right size or to guess how the clothes will “sit down” in the figure. Yes, and the quality of the goods through the monitor can not be determined. Here are some suggestions.

- For a long time I lived in Tomsk and got used to dressing the whole family on a joint shopping venue. When we moved to Samara, we saw that this business is not well developed here. And the puzzle in my head has developed. We bought software, a computer to host the site. The husband acted as a sponsor, since at that moment I was on maternity leave.

At first, both my husband and I, what to hide, did not regard this occupation as a business, but as a hobby that brings a small income. Now it’s clear that this opinion was a mistake. - How did your joint venture develop?

- The site has been operating for seven years, and during this time we have come a long way. Initially, the site worked exclusively on the enthusiasm of mothers who were sitting on maternity leave. Indefatigable energy did not allow them to simply "sit", they wanted to do something, at the same time having a small bonus - to buy what they need for the family at a wholesale price.

They took money in envelopes, everything was “on parole”, the issuance of orders was as follows: the organizers gathered in some wasteland and customers went from car to car, looking for orders.

Now, of course, is a completely different matter. Each organizer is registered as an individual entrepreneur, pays taxes and insurance premiums. We have our own fleet to deliver orders to points of delivery, which are already more than 130, and this number is growing. - Many customers - participants in joint purchases - literally live on the Internet, so it’s convenient for them to communicate with us through social networks, - Olga explains. - We have groups in the main social networks, in addition, I have a @pesholga personal page on Instagram, where I show my acquisitions and at the same time advertise purchases. With remote purchases, there are always not enough product reviews, live photos. I order a lot on my site, why not help people make the choice? I will not advise the bad.

- Do you think organizing a joint venture is an affordable way for a woman to earn money?

- In one way or another, several hundred people participate in the work of the site, and the vast majority are mothers. For them, the main advantage in this matter is irregular working hours. No need to sit still from morning to evening, you can take the child to the section, take him to the doctor at the right time, meet him after school. However, there is another side to the coin. JV organizers often do not rest in the evenings and on weekends, working with suppliers, creating catalogs, answering customer questions. And this constant presence of a computer in life is, of course, not easy.

- And how do you become procurement organizers?

- You need to start by analyzing the situation in your city. See how many SP sites you have, how active sales are on them. Check the groups in social networks, in many regions joint ventures are concentrated there. After that, choose the largest site and contact the head. In this case, immediately clearly indicate the interest in the work, its advantages as a candidate. I just want to warn you right away: it’s important to have a good idea of ​​the tasks and responsibilities of the “org” and understand that your earnings will not be equal to the organizational fee, at best, half of it.

- What are the responsibilities of the head of the procurement site?

- The task of any owner is to hire competent employees who can be delegated authority and responsibility. In addition, the leader determines the development strategy, controls business processes and generates new ideas. Work takes me all day. We can say that I live work because my work is incredibly interesting to me.

I wake up early, send my children to school and kindergarten, and either sit down at my computer at home or go to the gym for a workout.After lunch and until the end of the working day I work in the office, communicate with employees: meetings, planning meetings, brainstorming sessions. Then I pick up the youngest from kindergarten, have dinner - and I'm back at work.

You have to do something not only on the site, you also need to lay the foundation for the future: read books on marketing and sales, scroll through interesting profiles on social networks and learn something for yourself, arrange a home meeting with your husband.

- You can talk a lot, but I note two main tips. First, do what is fun. After all, we have one life and it is insanely wrong to spend it on an unloved, disgusted job. Do you like to bake cakes? Get a page on social networks, learn to take beautiful pictures of your masterpieces, follow the best culinary experts, wind up on your mustache, turn on individuality. The same thing, if you like to take pictures, read books and write about them, knit, sew ... Take your time, gradually expand the number of clients - through friends and relatives, then through their friends ... And soon the hobby will begin to generate income. If you are consistent, soon you will have the financial opportunity to take an assistant or two, rent or buy a larger room. And now the business is on its feet.

Keep your eyes open. Think, analyze, count and don't be afraid to start. After all, if you don’t start, you will never know whether it will work out or not.
