Hipsters - this is not just a fashionable trend in the middle of the last century. This is a way of life, a style of thinking and behavior that arose in response to the grayness of everyday life of the times of the Soviet Union. The great country has just begun to move away from the destruction left by the war. And against this background, bright young people suddenly began to appear, dressed motley, but not tasteless.

Ideas of style came from abroad. Far America lived a full, fun life, inaccessible to Soviet youth. The dudes, who created their own palette of colors and styles, drew inspiration from it.

Features of style clothes

If we consider women's fashion, in this style the main attention was paid to dresses: with a tight top and puffy skirts. The dress in the style of the dude necessarily had several petticoats, the only way the effect of an amazing volume could be achieved. Moreover, the petticoats were not made in the classic white color and not even in one color scheme. Often they were colorful and peeking out from under the main skirt.

The colorfulness of the image was complemented by bright colors of dresses. Dresses were full of picturesque patterns, contrasting decor. Striped fabrics, polka dots, and small and large flowers were very popular.

There were no general requirements for the sleeves of dresses: there were models with sleeves-lanterns, straight in three quarters or without them at all.

By the mid-60s dudes began to dress more elegantly. Thanks to the influence of Western cinema, the outfits became more restrained and not too colorful.

Style today

This is not to say that this style is still very popular. Rather, due to its special specifics, it remains in demand at theme parties and among very confident young people. Over time, style clothes have undergone some changes. But if you want to repeat the classics of the genre, then remember that:

• should choose a dress with a fitted top. It should emphasize your femininity and chiseled figure;
• a dress with sleeves and without them, with draperies on the bodice, on wide straps will do;
• Pay attention to color and pattern. Ornaments, drawings, polka dot flowers, bright and saturated colors - this is what you need!
• The skirt may have different lengths. The classic image of the dude remembered the skirt to the knees. But there are also shorter options that are perfect for a cocktail party, wedding of friends and a prom at school;
• if you do not want to wear a fluffy skirt, opt for a straight-fitting dress, but always in bright colors with contrasting trim;
• clothes in the style of stilag love decor. Therefore, freely use fashionable ruffles and shuttlecocks for two seasons in a row to decorate dresses. And tie a wide, decorated belt under the bodice with a bow.

Style Accessories

Not a single ladies' outfit of the era of dudes could do without accessories. They were no less bright than dresses! To create this image you will need:

• colorful beads or necklace,
• a scarf or scarf, better in contrasting color,
• numerous bracelets,
• large earrings, better rounded,
• bright wide belt
• hat.

The dude girl’s handbag should match the dress in color and decor. Choose small clutches or handbags with a long belt. "Shoes" are suitable as shoes high heels with a pointed nose, open toes or high boots.

Makeup Style

In everyday life, rarely one of the girls allows herself such a make-up.But for a theme party, he will be very welcome:

1. even your complexion with a tonal foundation, preferably a couple of tones lighter than yours;
2. on the upper eyelid, draw a clear arrow, thin in the corner of the eye and thickened - towards the temples;
3. thickly apply eyelashes, absolutely not sparing carcasses;
4. lips brightly red or scarlet lipstick.

Pay attention to the hairstyle. To fully recreate the image, the famous “babette” is suitable:

1. separate the hair in front, tie the remaining in a high tail;
2. comb the tail and wrap it in a tight roller;
