The national cuisine of Ukraine is closely connected with the culture of the people and their way of life. Some of its dishes are widely used by other peoples. Ukrainian national cuisine is based on the methods of boiling, stewing and baking. Possessing common features, the national Ukrainian cuisine has its own regional characteristics. There is Hutsul cuisine, Transcarpathian cuisine, the cuisine of central Ukraine.

The traditional dishes of Ukraine include potatoes, lard, dumplings, borscht, rye bread, uzvar, kvass. National dishes of Ukraine included meat of domestic animals (cows, pigs), poultry (chicken, geese), vegetables (cabbage, onions, carrots, potatoes), cereals (buckwheat, millet). Ukrainian food was necessarily accompanied by drinks - it was beer, kvass, milk, sour, fermented baked milk.

The sweet national dish of Ukrainians consisted of bread spread with honey, pies with poppy seeds or beans. Later, Ukrainian sweets replenished their assortment, verguns, drying, cheesecakes were added to them, and cakes, loaves and kalachs were baked for the holidays.

Ukrainian folk dishes will appeal to those who like to eat tasty and satisfying. Ukrainian cuisine is not particularly suitable for those who are on a diet or are going to do it. National Ukrainian dishes can be safely divided into the first, second and third.

The first traditional Ukrainian dishes are borsch and cabbage. Borsch - liquid food, it is usually served with soft garlic pampushkami. Cooked from vegetables, among which must be beets. Another first Ukrainian national dish is cabbage. The main ingredient is sauerkraut, which gives the dish acid. First courses are served with sour cream. Each housewife’s recipes are different, and you will not find the same traditional cooking for this dish anywhere, they will always be different.

The second Ukrainian dishes of national cuisine are obtained if not fatty, then floury. For example, potatoes are seasoned with greaves - these are finely chopped pieces of fat or fatty meat, fried in a pan. Boiled pork is a large piece of meat, usually from pork baked in the oven. The national Ukrainian dish of dumplings is pieces of dough boiled in water. Serve them with sour cream and butter. Simple dumplings are also added to soups. But the most important national dish of Ukraine, which everyone loves, is dumplings. They are made from dough, inside they put the filling of cherries, potatoes with mushrooms, meat, cabbage, etc. and boiled. This list goes on and on. National restaurants must include them in their menu.
