Buckwheat with chicken in the oven - a juicy and tasty second course

Buckwheat with chicken in the oven - a juicy and tasty second course

Kitchen appliances and utensils:

  • gas or electric oven;
  • baking dish 42 × 28 cm;
  • fine mesh metal sieve;
  • cutting board;
  • knife;
  • deep capacity;
  • medium grater;
  • foil;
  • tablespoon;
  • dinner plate.

Ingredients

Chicken drumstick 9-10 pcs.
Bow 2 pcs.
Carrot 2 pcs.
Buckwheat 700 g
Hot water 400-500 ml
Salt 2-3 tsp
Ground black pepper 3-4 pinch
Sunflower oil 1-2 tbsp. l

Step cooking

  1. We peel 2 carrots and rub them on a medium grater.
    On a coarse grater we rub carrots.
  2. Remove the husks from 2 onions and cut them into small squares.
    Dice the onion.
  3. We wash 9-10 chicken legs under running water, remove excess moisture with a paper towel and carefully remove the skin.
    We wash the chicken drumsticks and remove the skin from them.
  4. Shins are placed in a deep container, add about 1 tsp. salt and 2 pinches of pepper and mix with your hands to evenly salt and pepper the chicken meat.
    Salt and pepper the chicken legs, mix.
  5. Turn on the oven 200 ° so that it has time to warm up. We sort out 700 g of buckwheat groats, put it in a metal sieve and rinse thoroughly under cold water.
    We wash buckwheat.
  6. Pour 1-2 tbsp into the form. l sunflower oil and carefully lubricate it, paying special attention to the walls and corners, so that in the process of baking the cereal does not stick to them. We spread 700 g of washed buckwheat and level it with a uniform layer.
    We place washed buckwheat in a baking dish greased with vegetable oil.
  7. Sprinkle on top with 2 onions, cut into squares, distributing them on all surfaces of buckwheat.
    On top of the buckwheat, spread the onions evenly.
  8. On the onion layer spread evenly 2 grated carrots.
    Sprinkle a layer of onions grated carrots.
  9. Sprinkle on top 1-2 tsp. salt and 1-2 pinches of black pepper.
    Salt and pepper the dish at this stage.
  10. We spread the chicken drumsticks at approximately the same distance, first the top row, then the bottom row in a checkerboard pattern.
    On top of the carrot layer spread the chicken drumsticks.
  11. Gently pour 400-500 ml of hot water in such a way so as not to touch the chicken, and the water level has reached grated carrots.
    Pour the dish with hot water so that it covers the buckwheat.
  12. We cover our mold with foil so that it tightly covers the entire baking container, and fix it on the sides, just bending down the edges. We put the foil-covered form in a preheated oven for 50 minutes.
    Cover the form with foil and send to the oven.
  13. After 50 minutes, we take out the form, put a buckwheat and chicken on a plate with a tablespoon, and serve.
    Greek in chicken in the oven is an excellent full-fledged second course for the whole family.
Important! To make the dish more aromatic, and the meat more tender, after laying chicken pieces on buckwheat with vegetables, grease them with 1-2 tbsp. l sour cream 20% and sprinkle 1-2 tsp. “Hops-Suneli” mixture, and in different parts of the buckwheat layer “drown” 3-4 cloves of garlic. If desired, you can take out the form 10 minutes before being ready, sprinkle pieces of chicken with grated cheese and return to the oven, no longer covering it with foil. So you get a delicious cheese crust on chicken legs.
