  1. We disassemble the inflorescences of fresh broccoli into small pieces, clean them from the petiole and rinse thoroughly. In a separate container with cold water, spread the peeled and chopped broccoli. We leave in this container for some time until the water boils, in which we will cook it. This is necessary in order to better rinse it from dirt.
  2. Pour about 1-1.5 liters of clean filtered water into the pan and bring to a boil. We spread the broccoli in boiling water, after draining the previous liquid from it. Gently spread over the pan so that all the pieces are covered with water. Then bring to a boil again.
  3. Add a little salt and cook for 2.5 minutes.
  4. After 2.5 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and put the broccoli on a common dish or immediately on portioned dishes, depending on your situation. Enjoy your meal.

Useful Tips: How to Choose Broccoli

  • It is best to choose dark green inflorescences. The yellow color of the inflorescences indicates that the vegetable is already overripe.
  • Broccoli should be saturated color. A weak green color is a sure sign that the vegetable is not yet ripe and too young.
  • If you want to get broccoli with the maximum amount of carotene, choose inflorescences with a dark top and a purple hue. During cooking, purple turns to green.
  • Choose broccoli with stiff stalks and a firm top.
  • Do not take too large inflorescences. It is better to give preference to heads with a diameter of 17-20 cm.
  • Do not buy wet broccoli. Very often, to preserve the freshness of the vegetable, unscrupulous sellers immerse it in water. This negatively affects the quality of vegetables. Fresh broccoli should be dry and gray, with tightly closed buds.
