  1. First, rinse thoroughly with 3 medium-sized beets and pat dry with paper towels. Try to choose the same root vegetables so that they bake evenly and simultaneously. Place two beets in the baking sleeve and fix it, and one in the foil, and tightly wrap. If you have thin foil, then use several layers. As you can see, the foil has two different sides - matte and glossy. If you eat the beets with the frosted side out, it will cook a little faster.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200 ºС. Put the prepared vegetables on a baking sheet or baking dish, and then send to the preheated oven for about 1.5-2 hours. Cooking time depends on the size of the beets. After 1 hour, you can check the readiness of beets by piercing it with a wooden toothpick. Ready beets should be completely soft. When ready, turn off the oven and leave the beets inside to cool slightly.
  3. Then remove the baked beets from the oven, remove the foil and remove the root vegetables from the baking sleeve, then transfer the beets to a cutting board until they cool completely. If you wish, you can peel it with a knife if you plan to use it immediately. As for the difference in these two methods of baking, the beet in the sleeve loses more moisture and decreases more in size, in the foil - a little less. But in any case, beets remain juicy and tasty.

For baking and eating, choose high-quality root crops. Good beets should have a rounded or slightly flattened shape. And the color should have a rich burgundy without white stripes. There should be no dents or signs of spoiled product on the surface.

By baking beets, and not boiling, you will save more useful properties and taste of this root crop. Such beets are more sweet and aromatic.
