Ingredients
- Water - 2.5 L
- Apples - 5 pcs.
- Lemon juice - 1 tbsp. l
- Sugar - 5 tbsp. l
Step cooking
- To make homemade compote, take a 3-liter pot. Pour 2.5 L of water into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Wash 5 apples, cut them into 4 parts, remove the seeds and cut into a cube with a side of about 1 cm.
- In boiled water, add 5 tbsp. l sugar and stir to dissolve the sugar.
- Next, add chopped apples and 1 tbsp. l lemon juice.
- Cover the pan and boil for 5-10 minutes.
- Remove the compote from the heat and let it cool completely. Homemade apple compote is ready.

- Sugar and lemon juice can be adjusted to your liking. The taste of compote will also depend on the variety of apples used.
- Lemon juice can be used ready-made or squeezed from fresh lemon. It can also be replaced with citric acid.
- Compote for this recipe can be made from any seasonal fruits and berries. Also, frozen fruits are suitable for cooking.
- Ready cooled compote can be filtered through a sieve or gauze, poured into decanters or bottles. So it can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
