How to learn how to cook delicious red lentils with a simple recipe 🥣

Hot water 2 stack

Carrot 2 pcs.
A tomato 1 PC.
Tomato sauce 3-4 tbsp. l
Bell pepper 1 PC.
Garlic 2 cloves
Olive oil 2-3 tbsp. l
Curry taste
Ground red pepper taste
Ground black pepper taste
Paprika taste
Salt taste

Step cooking

  1. Fill a glass of pre-washed red lentils with two glasses of hot water and set to boil (do not salt!). At the end of cooking - after 15-20 minutes, when the lentils are ready - add some salt.
    In a saucepan we set the lentils to cook.
  2. On a coarse grater, rub 1 onion. Also rub 2 carrots.
    On a grater we rub onions and carrots.
  3. Finely chop a couple of garlic cloves (can be passed through a garlic squeezer). Bell pepper cut into thin strips. We cut the tomato and scald it with boiling water, after which we remove the skin. Cut into small cubes.
    Grind tomatoes.
  4. Pour 2-3 tbsp into a preheated pan. l olive oil. Pour to taste curry. Add again to the taste of red and black ground pepper. Also add a little paprika.
    Add the spices to the vegetable oil heated in the pan.
  5. Add garlic for flavor. Stir constantly so that the spices do not burn.
    Pour crushed garlic into the oil.
  6. Next we send onions to the pan, mix.
    Add the grated onion.
  7. As soon as the onion begins to change color - we fall asleep carrots, mix.
    Next, add the carrots.
  8. We also put sweet pepper in the pan.
    Add bell pepper to the pan.
  9. Next, add the tomato. Do not forget to constantly stir.
    We send tomatoes to the pan.
  10. We spread 3-4 tbsp in the vegetable mass. l tomato sauce. We add to taste.
    Add tomato paste.
  11. We cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 5 minutes on low heat.
    Stew vegetables for several minutes under the lid.
  12. Pour the finished lentils into the pan, mix, try on the salt - add salt if necessary and, closing the lid, simmer for another 5 minutes.
    Transfer the boiled lentils to the vegetables and mix.
  13. Serve as a side dish, can be decorated with greens.
    Cooked according to this recipe, red lentils will be an excellent side dish.

Useful Tips

  • Other ingredients can be safely added to such a dish, for example: celery, cauliflower, dill, basil, cilantro, suneli hops.
  • Instead of tomato sauce, you can add tomato paste or put more tomatoes.
