You can use the whole chicken or divide it into portions, you can take the most dietary part of it - the breast and bake it in the oven. In general, there are many options, but it is important to consider the rules that always apply.

Chicken + prunes: features of the combination

  • Choose fresh meatif you want to get it soft and tender after cooking. Frozen chicken legs, hips, legs and wings are more likely to disappoint with the result.
  • Use pitted prunes - So you can follow the recipe, and you do not have to spend time cleansing the fruit.
  • Always soak prunes before cooking. - it is necessary to put it in hot water for 30 minutes, then rinse under water. So you get rid of impurities and make the fruits soft, juicy.
  • Diversify the dish with spices. Oregano, marjoram, Provencal herbs, basil, rosemary are perfectly combined with these products. But add them carefully, little by little.

Braised chicken

The recipe for chicken stewed with prunes or walnuts can be implemented in a deep frying pan or cauldron. The dish is served in portions, in a gentle and rich sauce, so it can be complemented with any side dish to taste. To cook chicken with prunes in a pan, take:

For chicken with prunes and rice in the oven you will need:

  • rice - 1 cup;
  • onion - 1 head;

  • apples - 1 kg, preferably sweet and sour;
  • water - 2 glasses;
  • garlic - 2 cloves.

Cooking

  1. Rinse the carcass, pat it dry with napkins and spice with salt. While doing the filling, she will have time to pickle.
  2. Fry chopped onion with mushrooms, when they let the juice, add all the herbs and garlic, cook for 5 minutes. Then put washed rice and prunes in a pan, warm, pour water.Add salt and simmer over low heat. When the rice is soft, remove from heat.
  3. Cool the filling and stuff the carcass into it. Close the abdomen with toothpicks. Put on a baking sheet and carefully tighten it with foil. If the entire filling does not fit inside the chicken, lay it next to it. The carcass should be baked for 1 hour, setting the temperature to 180 °, and then another 30 minutes, laying apples sliced ​​around the chicken around the chicken.

Chicken Stuffed with Apples and Prunes

The gourmet dish will appeal to children, and besides, chicken with prunes and apples in the oven is not as high in calories as stuffed with rice.
