Polished rice 150 g

Sour cream of any fat content 4 tbsp. l
Tomato paste 3 tbsp. l
Breadcrumbs 50 g

Garlic 3 cloves
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l

Step cooking

Minced meat preparation

  1. Pour 150 g of rice into a stewpan, pour water so that it completely covers the cereal. Cook over low heat until cooked. You can take rice of any shape (round-grain, long-grain). Rice cooked until half cooked, rinse with running water and put in a colander in order to rid the cereal of excess fluid.
    Pour rice and cook until half cooked.
  2. White cabbage (500 g) finely chopped. It should be very small pieces.
    Shred the cabbage as finely as possible.
  3. Salt chopped cabbage. Next, you need to well crush the salted slices so that the cabbage gives its juice. We do it with our hands. We transfer the well-wrinkled cabbage to a colander. After you need to get rid of excess juice by squeezing slices in your hands.

  4. We cut one onion into small cubes.
    Chop the onion.
  5. We put cabbage and rice, which have lain in a colander for a long time and got rid of excess moisture, into a deep container. Add 600 grams of minced meat there. In this recipe for stuffed cabbage, you can use any stuffing: mixed, pork, chicken, beef.
    We mix minced meat, rice and cabbage in one container.
  6. Drive one chicken egg to combine all the ingredients into one mass.
    Add one egg.
  7. At this point, add the desired spices and salt. The best combination for this dish is a combination of allspice, ground pepper and coriander (ground).

  8. Pass through the garlic clove three cloves of garlic and toss to the total mass. Mix the ingredients thoroughly so that one forms a homogeneous mixture, and the spices are distributed throughout the mass.

  1. Set the pan to warm up, add two tablespoons of refined vegetable oil (olive, sunflower) to it.

  2. We cut one onion into cubes and throw it into a preheated pan. Fry until the onion softens.

  4. Combine the tomato paste in the amount of three tablespoons with four tablespoons of sour cream, mix until a uniform consistency is formed.

Assembly and baking

  1. With a tablespoon, pinch a little from the resulting mass of minced meat and form a small cutlet. The shape of the product can be any according to your desire, but not very large or thick (to bake well in the oven).

  2. The resulting stuffed cabbage is slightly baked in breadcrumbs. If you don’t have any ready-made crackers at home, you can replace them with plain white flour or bran.

  3. The same action is repeated with the whole amount of minced meat and spread the cabbage rolls on a deep metal baking tray, which we previously greased with vegetable oil. We try to form cabbage rolls of approximately the same size so that they bake well and retain juiciness.

  4. On a baking sheet between cabbage rolls, spread the fried carrots and onions, distribute them evenly around the entire perimeter.
