Ingredients

  • Cabbage - 1.5 kg
  • Sweet pepper - 1 pc.
  • Carrots - 1 pc.
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Dill seeds - 5 g
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Sugar - 0.5 cups
  • Salt - 1 tbsp. l
  • Vegetable oil - 0.5 cups
  • Vinegar 6% - 100 ml

Marinade

  1. Pour 500 ml of water into the container, then add 0.5 cups of sugar to the water, 1 tbsp. l salt, 0.5 cups of vegetable oil and mix. Cooking marinade.
  2. Put the pot on the fire and bring to a boil, then remove from the stove and let the marinade cool. The marinade must be brought to a boil, and then let it cool.

Cabbage

  1. Wash a head of cabbage weighing 1.5 kg. Cut the cabbage with a knife. Shred the cabbage.
  2. Wash and peel 1 bell pepper, cut into small straws. chop the bell peppers.
  3. Peel 1 carrot and grate it on a coarse grater. grate carrots.
  4. Add chopped peppers and grated carrots to the previously chopped cabbage. Peel 2 cloves of garlic, finely chop with a knife and also add to the cabbage, then send the dill seeds (5 g) there. Mix everything and gently mash with your hands to make the cabbage soft. Mix the cabbage with vegetables, salt and spices.
  5. In a cooled (slightly warm) marinade, add 100 ml of vinegar 6%, mix. Add vinegar to the marinade.
  6. Add the marinade to the bowl with cabbage, cover the cabbage with a plate or other suitable object, and then cover the pan with a lid. Leave the cabbage to marinate for 2 days. pour cabbage with marinade and put under oppression for two days.
  7. After 2 days, cabbage can already be tried. Such a marinade for cabbage will make a wonderful salad.

Sauerkraut dishes

  • Dumplings with sauerkraut. Make a dumpling for dumplings (for 4 servings): break 1 chicken egg, add 0.5 tsp. salt and 200 ml of water, whisk with a mixer, then add 1 tsp. sunflower oil and 500 g flour, knead the dough. After that, finely chop the sauerkraut, roll out the dough with a layer and cut circles out of it. Lay the cabbage on the dough and fasten along the edges. Cook the resulting dumplings.
  • Cabbage soup. Cook the meat broth, put sauerkraut in an empty pan and pour water (1/2 cup per 500 g of cabbage), cover and simmer for 50 minutes. Then pour the cabbage with meat broth, add the tomatoes and cook until cooked. 5 minutes before the end of cooking, put in the pan bay leaf, pepper and salt to taste, as well as flour dressing.
