Step cooking
- Absolutely any minced meat is suitable for this recipe. You can even combine several types of meat, for example, pork with beef, turkey or chicken. It all depends on your personal preferences. Spread the minced meat in a deep bowl and pour 1 cup (235 ml) of breadcrumbs to it. Bread crumbs can be replaced with crumbs from crackers or any other bread products.
- 1/2 part of the medium-sized onion peeled and cut into small cubes. Pour 1 cup (235 ml) of milk to the meat, add chopped onion, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tsp. with a slide of salt, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper.
- Top with 120 ml of ketchup.
- Break the egg into a separate bowl and beat slightly with a fork.
- Add to the rest of the ingredients.
- Knead everything thoroughly until smooth. If desired, you can also add your favorite spices, finely chopped vegetables or mushrooms.
- To prepare a meat loaf, it is better to use a special baking dish, but if you don’t have one, any other will do.
- Spray the form with spray oil or lubricate manually with vegetable oil using a brush.
- Spread minced meat very tightly. It is very important that there are no gaps, otherwise the loaf may crack. Carefully level the minced meat on the surface.
- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Set the meat loaf in the oven and bake for 90 minutes.
- Next you need to mix the sauce. Pour 180 ml of ketchup into a small bowl, add 1 tsp. hot sauce and 2 tbsp. l apricot or any other sweet jam. Do not be afraid that the sauce will be very sweet. Jam will give the sauce a unique sweet and sour taste.
- After 45 minutes of baking, grease the loaf with half the resulting sauce. The second half will be needed for us to submit. Put the loaf in the oven again and bake for another 45 minutes.
- We leave the finished meat loaf in the form for 15 minutes. Then you can serve. Enjoy your meal.
