Step cooking
Test preparation
- Melt 200 g of margarine or butter in the oven or microwave until liquid sour cream. The product should soften slightly, but not boil.
- Break two eggs in a bowl, add 200 g of sugar to them.
- Beat with a whisk until a homogeneous, foamy mass is obtained.
- Add the margarine softened in advance to the mass. Mix thoroughly with a whisk.
- Take 400 g of sifted wheat flour and mix it with 1 tsp. baking powder.
- Gradually add flour to the mass, mix thoroughly with a whisk.
- When the mixture thickens to such an extent that the whisk ceases to cope, we begin to interfere with the hand.
- Continue adding flour until a firm, non-sticky dough is obtained.
- We put the resulting soft dough to a plastic bag and leave it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Shaping and baking products
- Pour a small amount of wheat flour onto a table or cutting board, evenly distribute. We spread the infused mass, cutting off half of it.
- Using a rolling pin, we roll out the dough to a thickness of 0.7-1 cm.
- Sprinkle sugar on top, crush lightly with a rolling pin.
- We form cookies using special molds or a glass with thin edges.
- We lay out the formed products on a baking sheet covered with parchment. We preheat the oven to 180 degrees, turning on the uniform heating mode (top and bottom). Place the biscuit with shortbread cookies in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. As baking is necessary to control the process.
- After baking, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool at room temperature.
Feeding and Decorating Options
Such a simple shortbread cookie can be varied and give it sophistication, if you use simple techniques to decorate an already finished product.
- 1st option: put a lacy napkin on the bottom of a wide dish; put the cooled products sprinkled with white or colored coconut flakes.
- Option 2: immediately after baking, sprinkle cookies with powdered sugar.
- Option 3: If you want to spice up your pastries, garnish with a little cocoa powder or grated dark chocolate.
- 4th option: before forming the products, sprinkle them with poppy seeds or sesame seeds, walk along the surface of the dough with a rolling pin. Next you can cut shortbread cookies.
