Cooking cabbage pie in a slow cooker: 3 simple recipes for new dishes!

Cabbage pies were originally baked in Russia during the holidays, so for our table this is a traditional dish. But you and I live in an age of technological progress, so it’s a sin not to use your favorite culinary assistant to make a delicious pie. It can not be considered a dish for the celebration, such as chicken with apples. But as a family weekend lunch, the cabbage pie in the slow cooker Redmond (or any other) will be a great and quick alternative to other dishes.

Cabbage Pie. 5 cooking secrets

  1. Use young cabbage, then the filling will turn out homogeneous, tender. If this is impossible to find, the old one will do. But then it will first need to be put out in a pan.
  2. Other ingredients, such as boiled eggs, minced meat or mushrooms, will make filling more nutritious and varied. Do not add onions to the filling if you do not plan to pre-treat it, as it will crackle. Raw onions will also give a disgusting taste to raw minced chicken.
  3. Stuffing for stuffing can be put raw - This dish is suitable even for people who adhere to a diet for medical reasons.
  4. For the test, you can use cottage cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise or cook a pie with cabbage on kefir in a slow cooker. It is only important to monitor the consistency of the dough: make it moderately thick, like sour cream.
  5. During cooking, you need to turn the cake over so that it bakes evenly. To do this, it is convenient to use a double boiler basket, onto which you, as a stand, can turn the dish over.
