Ingredients

carrot 150 g
Wheat flour 200 g
sugar 200 g
vegetable oil (refined) 200 g
chicken egg (large) 4 things.

cinnamon (ground) 0.5 tsp

Step cooking

Pie

  1. Before you start kneading the dough for the pie, you need to take 150 g of carrots, peel it, wash it, and then grate it on a fine or medium grater.
    Rub carrots on a fine grater.
  2. Orange or lemon should be washed thoroughly. Wash 100 g of raisins and pour boiling water on the plate for a short while.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix 200 g of wheat flour with 0.5 tsp. baking powder and mix well.

  11. After you have combined the dry and wet ingredients, you need to mix them thoroughly and very quickly so that the baking powder does not start to act ahead of time and the cake is lush. The finished dough by consistency should resemble thick sour cream.

  12. The oven should be preheated to 180 degrees. The baking dish must be covered with parchment paper onto which you pour the dough.

  13. The cake should be baked in a constantly closed oven for 40-50 minutes. You can check the readiness of the pie by lightly pressing your finger on the middle, if there is no dent on the pie, the dish is ready.
    The finished cake takes on a rich brown color.
  14. Let the carrot cake cool slightly, and then remove it from the mold.
    When the cake has cooled, it can be removed from the mold.

Glaze

  1. To prepare the glaze, with which you can decorate the cake, you need to squeeze 3-4 tbsp of orange. l juice and strain it through cheesecloth.
    For the preparation of glaze you will need the juice of half an orange.
  2. Pour 200 g of powdered sugar into a separate container, and then gradually add freshly squeezed orange juice to it, stirring constantly. Glaze should not turn out too liquid.
    Mix the juice with powdered sugar, adjusting the density of the glaze.
  3. Put a few tablespoons of the glaze in a separate container, and then add the zest of the orange to it, so that it becomes a more saturated orange color.
    Set aside a few tablespoons of glaze, add a little zest to it so that it turns yellow.
  4. Decorate the finished cake with orange-sugar glaze at your discretion. Sprinkle grated chocolate on top of the pie or add a few mint leaves.
