Shortcrust bagels - delicious pastry for tea

Butter 180 g
Milk 4 tbsp. l
Sour cream 4 tbsp. l

Step cooking

  1. In 420 g of flour, which should first be sifted, rub on a coarse grater 180 g of butter (keep the oil in the refrigerator - to make it easier to rub) and carefully rub the mixture with your hands.
    Rub the butter into the sifted flour and rub it into crumbs.
  2. Add 4 tbsp. l Sahara.
    Add sugar to the flour and butter mixture.
  3. Pour 0.5 tsp. soda. Mix again with your hands.
    Next, add soda.
  4. Then pour into the mixture 4 tbsp. l milk.
    Pour milk into the dough.
  5. Add 2 tbsp. l sour cream (it can be replaced with kefir).
    Add sour cream.
  6. Slightly add salt to the mixture - a third of a teaspoon is enough.
    Add salt.
  7. Knead the dough until smooth. It should turn out loose and soft.
    Knead a soft shortcrust pastry.
  8. We roll the dough into a ball, wrap it in cling film and leave it to lie down for 10 minutes.
    The dough should not stick to your hands.
  9. Then we divide the dough in half, wrap one half again in the film and set it aside.

  10. We lay out the second part on the table, lightly sprinkling it with flour. Gently roll it with a rolling pin, giving the cake the outline of a rectangle, its height is an expanded bagel. The thickness of the cake is about 2-3 mm.

  11. With a knife, we cut the cake into segments of the desired size - first into rectangles, then divide them, we get triangles - the basis of bagels.

  12. On a wide part of the triangles we put a little boiled condensed milk (you can use the filling another - the main thing is that it is thick enough) - about a third of a teaspoon.
    On the wide side of the triangle of dough we spread the filling of boiled condensed milk.
  13. We make a small incision in the middle of the short side of the segment and fix it, slightly spreading it to the sides, around the condensed milk.
    Having made a small incision on the edge of the dough, we wrap it in different directions, as if wrapping the condensed milk.
  14. Carefully turn the roll - a bagel is obtained. Thus we form all the products.
    Turn the dough roll.
  15. We line the baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the bagels.
    The resulting bagels are laid out on a baking sheet covered with parchment.
  16. We heat the oven to 180ºС and set a baking sheet in it for 20 minutes.
    Shortbread bagels are baked quickly.
  17. Sprinkle the finished bagels with icing sugar.
    Ready-made pastries can also be sprinkled with powdered sugar.
