Kitchen appliances and utensils:

  • meat grinder;
  • double boiler or slow cooker;
  • a bowl for mixing minced meat;
  • plates for ingredients;
  • a pan for cooking rice;
  • knife, spoon;
  • grater;
  • a strainer or colander for rice;
  • garlic press;
  • a bowl of water for wetting the hands.

Ingredients

Turkey or chicken meat 350 - 400 g
Bow 1 head
Carrot 1 PC.
Zucchini 70 g
Rice 2 tbsp. l without slide
Garlic 3 cloves
Ground black pepper, salt, taste
Other spices (rosemary, suni hops, a mixture of peppers, basil, etc.), chopped herbs for serving taste

Step cooking

  1. Prepare rice: 2 tbsp. l without a slide, fill it with one glass of water and set it to cook until half ready. While the rice is cooking, prepare other products.
    We wash the rice and cook.
  2. One medium-sized carrot, rub on a coarse grater. Peel the onion head and grate it on a coarse grater or skip it through a meat grinder.
    Grate carrots, grind onions.
  3. Turkey meat (350 - 400 g) with a grinder in a meat grinder. You can also buy ready-made stuffing.
    We pass the turkey through the meat grinder.
  4. 70 g of zucchini (about one third of a small fruit) wash and rub on a medium grater. If the zucchini is young, then rub along with the skin. Zucchini in meatballs is added for juiciness. For the same purpose, instead of zucchini, pumpkin or bell pepper is suitable.
    Grate zucchini.
  5. The rice cooked until half cooked is thrown into a colander and left to drain. Rinse rice is not necessary.
    Let the boiled rice cool.
  6. We chop the cloves of garlic (2 pcs.) In a garlic press or chop it finely with a knife. Prepare your favorite seasonings.
    Grind the garlic.
  7. We begin to combine the ingredients: add onion, carrots, zucchini, rice, garlic and seasonings to the minced meat.
    In a bowl we combine all the prepared ingredients.
  8. Knead everything thoroughly with a spoon or just with your hands.
    Stir the minced meat thoroughly.
  9. We proceed to the formation of meatballs. Wet your fingers in water and roll small balls (5-6 cm in diameter) from the minced meat. These round semi-finished products are carefully laid out on a flat plate or board.
    We form round meatballs.
  10. We prepare a double boiler: pour water to the “maximum” mark. Put spices and a clove of garlic in half in the middle of the strainer for flavor. You can cook in a slow cooker, if it has a special container for cooking steamed dishes.
    Put spices in a special compartment of the double boiler.
  11. A double boiler allows you to cook a main course and a side dish at the same time. Therefore, in the lower bowl you can put meatballs, and in the upper side dish, for example green peas and cauliflower.
    Put the meatballs in the basket of the double boiler.
  12. We set the time for half an hour, close the device with a lid and go about our business. After 30 minutes, delicious and healthy meatballs from turkey are ready. They are laid out on a plate, decorated with chopped greens. Served with low-fat sour cream or with a side dish of steamed vegetables.
    Steamed meatballs are unusually tender.
Did you know? To make the dish truly dietary, it is advised not to add salt to it or add a minimal amount. However, not everyone likes this fresh food. If you want to maintain a balance between benefits and taste, then generously salt the water in which rice will be cooked.
