Step cooking

  1. To begin with, thaw two mackerels, and then clean them from the insides, be sure to remove the black film so that it does not get bitter in the future. Then cut off the heads, tails and all the fins, rinse the fish well under running water.
    We clean and wash the mackerel.
  2. Slice the mackerel into batch slices 2-3 cm thick and put in a deep bowl.
    Cut the mackerel into pieces.
  3. Salt the chopped fish on one side and the other, for this use about 1.5 tsp. salt.

  6. Prepare a pan with a thick bottom for stewing fish. Put a layer of onion on the bottom of the pan, and a layer of fish on top of it.
    Put a layer of onion and fish in a saucepan.
  7. Then sprinkle with half a teaspoon of black pepper peas, and 5 peas allspice.
    Sprinkle the fish with pepper.
  8. After that, lay out a layer of onions again, but not all, and the remaining fish, also sprinkle with pepper.
    Again, repeat the layers of onion and fish.
  9. Then lay on top all the remaining onions. Pour in all the vegetable refined oil, about 80 ml, and strain the brewed tea in a pan.
    Water the fish with onions with vegetable oil and black tea.
  10. Send the pan of fish to the stove to boil, and after boiling, make the fire slow and cook the fish for another 2.5 hours without stirring.
    We put the fish to stew.
  11. After this time, add 4 bay leaves to the fish and simmer over low heat for another 15-20 minutes. Then turn off the stove and let the fish cool completely under a tightly closed lid.
    In the process of stewing, add bay leaf to the mackerel.
  12. The finished fish turned out to be fragrant, it does not fall apart, and thanks to black tea it has acquired a beautiful amber color.
    Mackerel stewed according to this recipe will taste like canned food.
Optionally, in a pan with mackerel, you can also add sliced ​​carrots, and then stew. Use a little garlic for piquancy. In addition to pepper, you can take your favorite spice for fish.

You can serve the finished fish with fresh vegetables and rice, decorating with herbs, any other side dish will also suit your taste. And the stewed onion and the remaining oil are well suited as gravy.
