Cod Ear - Finnish Fish Soup Recipe

Step cooking

  1. We cut the previously cleaned and washed cod into 2 parts and put the fish in a pan, pouring it with 1.5 l of water.Put the pieces of cod in the water and set to cook.
  2. We put it on a fire so that the water boils, and remove the foam.
    When boiling, we collect foam from the broth.
  3. We put in a saucepan an unpeeled washed onion, a few twigs of dill tied with a thread, a little salt and cook over low heat for about 1 hour.
    Add the onion and a bunch of dill to the broth.
  4. We spread the fish on a separate plate, onions and dill must be discarded, strain the broth.
    We take out the finished fish from the broth, and filter it.
  5. We clear the fish fillet from the skin and bones and divide it into pieces.
    We clean the fish and remove the bones.
  6. Peel the potatoes and cut into slices.
    Peel and chop the potatoes.
  7. Cut the leek into circles.
    Chop the leek.
  8. Grind the remaining dill.
    Grind fresh dill.
  9. We put the broth on the fire, and as soon as it boils, put in it pre-chopped potatoes and carrots, and cook for about 20 minutes, not forgetting to remove the newly formed foam.
    Add potatoes and sliced ​​carrots to the boiling broth.
  10. While the vegetables are boiling, pour the flour into a cup with cream and mix well to avoid lumps.
    Combine the flour with cream and mix.
  11. Pour into the broth circles of leeks and cook for about 5 minutes.
    Add leek to the soup.
  12. Pour the prepared cream with flour into the soup and bring it to a boil.
    Enter the cream with flour into the soup.
  13. Salt and pepper the soup to taste. White pepper is good in combination with fish, but black can also be used.
    Salt and pepper to taste the first dish.
  14. Transfer the cod fillet into slices and dill into the soup, mix the soup and cook for another 5 minutes. Enjoy your meal!
