Steaming is ideal for dumplings with berry filling. This heat treatment is gentle, does not damage the dough layer, and the filling has time to prepare.

Classic with Cherry

Dumplings with berry filling are tasty only in case of a successful test. A much juicier dish will turn out if you use the recipe for the test on whey or kefir. It can be rolled thicker, while cooking it will remain airy and magnificent.

You will need to test:

  • serum - 300 ml;
  • flour - 400 g;
  • soda - 0.5 tsp;
  • salt - 0.5 tsp.

Steamed Dumplings with CherryFor filling:

  • cherry - 400 g;
  • sugar - 1 tbsp.

Cooking

  1. Berry free.
  2. Mix whey with soda, pour salt.
  3. Add flour to the whey and knead the dough. It turns out to be soft and sticky enough, so leave it that way.
  4. Pour the flour onto the table and form from the mass of sausages. Each cut into pieces, from which roll out circles.
  5. Put a couple of cherries and a teaspoon of sugar on the cakes, connect the edges with a pigtail.
  6. If you don’t have a special steam insert at hand, use the cheesecloth cooking method. To do this, pour one third of the water into the pan, and pull a layer of gauze on top. Make sure the ends are far from the bottom of the pan; they can ignite.
  7. When the water boils, fold the dumplings onto the cheesecloth not tightly. Cover the structure with an inverted deep dish. Cook the dumplings for five minutes.

Serve lush dumplings steamed with cherries with sour cream. Additionally, you can sprinkle them with powder.

How to steam dumplings, if you do not have a slow cooker with a special insert, or a double boiler? Use a colander over a pot of water. Only pre-lubricate it with oil so that the dumplings do not stick.

With raspberries and currants in a slow cooker

For sweet dumplings, any forest or garden berries are suitable. You can, as in this case, use not one type of berries, but a combination of two or more. An ideal test option would be mass on kefir. This will make the dish more delicate in taste.

Steamed raspberries with raspberriesYou will need to test:

  • kefir - 1 tbsp .;
  • flour - 3 tbsp .;
  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • soda - 1 tsp;
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • salt - 0.5 tsp.

For filling:

  • raspberries - 200 g;
  • black currant - 200 g;
  • sugar - 4 tbsp. l .;
  • starch - 1 tsp

Cooking

  1. Beat the egg in a bowl, add salt to it.
  2. Mix the egg with kefir.
  3. Add soda and flour, kneading the dough.
  4. Pour oil into the mass. The bun should be soft and supple.
  5. Peel the berries.
  6. Combine sugar with starch.
  7. Nip the lumps from the finished mass that has come up and roll them into cakes.
  8. Put a few berries and a spoonful of starch / sugar mixture in the center of each.
  9. Fasten the edges.
  10. Pour three glasses of water into the multicooker bowl.
  11. Oil the steam insert. Put the dumplings in a steam basket so that they do not touch each other.
  12. Select a steaming mode in the multicooker. After boiling, cook for 6 minutes.
  13. Pour the butter dumplings and serve.

Lazy with apricot in a double boiler

If you wondered how to steam dumplings for children, the “lazy” recipe with apricots and cottage cheese is ideal. Hassle with them at least, because you don’t have to sculpt them.And the result boasts vitamins and excellent palatability.

Apricot lazy dumplingsYou will need:

  • apricots - 200 g;
  • cottage cheese - 400 g;
  • flour - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • sugar - 3 tbsp. l .;
  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • semolina - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • vanillin - 0.5 tsp

Cooking

  1. Rinse the fruit, separate from the seeds and cut into cubes.
  2. Mix cottage cheese with egg and apricots.
  3. Stir in semolina, sugar and flour, and add vanilla.
  4. From the finished mass, stick the balls.
  5. Pour water into the lower compartment of the double boiler and grease the grates with oil.
  6. Put the finished balls on the grates and turn on the device.
  7. Cook lazy dumplings in a double boiler for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve the dish with sour cream or berry sauce.

Savory recipes

With potatoes and onions

It is believed that in order to cook real Ukrainian lush dumplings for a couple, you need to follow old recipes. In particular, from unsweetened fillings, potatoes with onion fry are traditionally popular. And the dough can be made with yeast.

Steamed Dumplings with PotatoesYou will need:

  • potato - 6 pcs.;
  • onion - 3 pcs.;
  • vegetable oil - 3 tbsp. l .;
  • salt - 1 tsp;
  • warm water - 200 ml;
  • sugar - 1 tsp;
  • yeast - half a pack of dry;
  • flour - 3 tbsp.

Cooking

  1. Peel the onions, wash, chop and fry in oil.
  2. Make thick mashed potatoes from potatoes.
  3. Salt the mashed potatoes and add the third part of the fried onion to it.
  4. Mix the yeast with flour, sugar and salt.
  5. Pour water into the mixture and knead the dough.
  6. From the rested and approached dough, form sausages, cut them into pieces, make flat cakes.
  7. Put a spoon of the filling into each cake and dazzle the edges.
  8. Pull the cheesecloth over the pan, after pouring one third of the water inside. It is important to spread the dumplings only when the gauze is saturated with steam and becomes wet.
  9. Place a few pieces of prepared dumplings on cheesecloth. Cover them with a deep inverted bowl.
  10. How long to boil the dumplings depends on the test, in this case 6 minutes is enough.
  11. Put the dumplings in a deep bowl and pour onion fry so that they do not stick together. It is more convenient to sculpt them in parts, in the amount that fits on gauze.

With cabbage

Steamed dumplings with cabbage are very juicy. Due to the cooking method, they always remain intact, while maintaining a delicious filling inside.

Steamed Dumplings with CabbageYou will need to test:

  • yogurt - 1 tbsp .;
  • flour - 4.5 tbsp .;
  • soda - 1 tsp;
  • salt - 0.5 tsp.

For filling:

  • cabbage - half the average head of cabbage;
  • onion - 2 pcs.;
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • spices, salt - to taste.

Cooking

  1. Chop cabbage, onions finely and stew in a deep frying pan with the addition of oil.
  2. Salt the finished stuffing and sprinkle with seasonings to your taste.
  3. Pour soda and salt into yogurt.
  4. When adding flour, prepare a soft dough.
  5. Roll the mass into a cake and make circles with a recess. Put a spoonful of cabbage with onions and close the edges.
  6. Pour water into the pan a third of the volume and pull a layer of gauze over it. Wait for boiling and spread the dumplings on cheesecloth. Cover with an inverted dish for 6 minutes, and then put the finished dumplings on a plate.

Ukrainians - true connoisseurs of dumplings - believe that real dumplings are just those that are steamed. And everything else is jokingly called simply vegetable dumplings.
