DIY dishwashing detergent: recipes for pastes, gel, powder and the option of natural tablets for dishwashers

When choosing a dishwashing gel in a store, housewives first of all think about the effectiveness of the product and rarely remember safety. But in vain. Household chemicals can harm human health. What to do? Repeat the experience of grandmothers and prepare their own washing mixes.
Dishwashing liquid and sponge

Washing gels, cleaning powders from the store do their job perfectly: they wash off the fat, fight off scale, eliminate the unpleasant “amber”. But what is the secret of their effectiveness? Why does the detergent foam so well and remove even complex dirt? The answer is on the surface: so many chemical compounds are mixed in it that any task becomes feasible. The medal has a downside: chemical components are harmful to humans. You can, of course, look for safe means, but they are not cheap. An option for economical housewives is to prepare a natural remedy on their own.

4 advantages

Hand made detergents have at least four pluses.

  1. Security. You probably noticed that if you wash the dishes without gloves, then the skin on your hands becomes tightened, your nails begin to break. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. For chemistry, “volatility” is characteristic: components of household products penetrate the respiratory system, accumulate in the body and gradually harm it. If washing the gel off the plate is not thorough enough, household chemistry also “eats” the chemistry. All this can be avoided by preparing a safe product with your own hands.
  2. Hypoallergenicity. Chemical compounds can cause allergies. At home, you can create a hypoallergenic detergent by mixing only safe ingredients.
  3. Environmental friendliness. The use of handmade products is a contribution to the care of nature. Chemistry, falling into the drain, pollutes the environment. And add here still an empty "container" from the detergent, which is thrown into the trash. By choosing home remedies, you care about the environment.
  4. Saving. The composition that the housewives prepare includes “cheap” components. Usually, a substantial item of expenditures is allocated for household chemicals, and “initiative” will help to significantly reduce it.
Alternative methods of washing dishes are especially relevant if there is a child in the house. Marking "does not cause allergies" on purchased gels does not always correspond to reality. Examine the components of the hygiene products for children's dishwashing detergents: most of them contain synthetic substances.

5 recipes

Such preparations are prepared quickly: just mix the components according to the instructions. Most of the ingredients are found in the kitchen: soda powder, vinegar, citric acid or lemon juice. Homemade gels are not inferior to purchased ones in effectiveness: after them, the dishes will shine with purity.

In ancient times, dishes were washed with brick chips, sand, ash. Do not experiment like this: these assistants are only suitable for cast-iron utensils, they will leave scratches on the rest of the dishes. Another ancient method is nettle instead of a washcloth. The method is still used by lovers of hiking.

With soda and peroxide

Features Effectively removes residues of burning and soot, tea or coffee plaque. You can remove dark spots from spoons, yellow stains from enameled dishes. The tool will eliminate the unpleasant odor, even if the "aroma" remained after the fish.

Cooking

  1. Dissolve a tablespoon of soda in a glass of hot water.
  2. Add hydrogen peroxide (in the same amount as soda powder).
  3. Mix the components.Pour the product into the spray bottle and use.
Peroxide can be replaced with vinegar. The effectiveness of the composition from this will even increase. Acetic-soda liquid will cope not only with dirty dishes, but also, if necessary, wash the stove.

With citric acid

Features “Lemon” detergent is prepared in a minute. Despite the simplicity of the formulation, the tool copes well with the main tasks: cleans, disinfects, removes stains and foreign odors.

Cooking

  1. Dissolve a bag of citric acid (5 g) in a liter of water.
  2. Use the solution in any convenient way: soak a sponge in it or spray directly from the dispenser onto the dishes.
If the house has lemon, you can easily refresh cutting boards. Wipe them with a peel of citrus - the stubborn smell of fish or onions will disappear.

With mustard

Features The tool will help get rid of unpleasant odors. After use, the dishes shine. Mustard solution is prepared quickly. They do not store it, but each time they make a new one.

Cooking

  1. Pick up a bowl of hot water.
  2. Dissolve a teaspoon of mustard in a liquid. Stir thoroughly to form a foam.
  3. Dip plates and cutlery in water, rub them with a sponge.
  4. The final stage is a thorough rinse in cold water.
If you need to wash just a couple of plates, then you can simply pour a small amount of mustard powder on the sponge. Lightly moisten the sponge with powder under running hot water, rub the plates until the dirt is gone.

Dishwashing liquid

Gel

Features It even copes with complex dishware contaminations (grease, soot), removes the stubborn smell. You can cook for a couple of days. An option for lovers of universal solutions: it will wash dishes to a squeak, relieve soap stains and mold tiles. You can modify this recipe. Instead of a soda-mustard mixture, four tablespoons of glycerol are added. Everything else is according to the instructions.

Cooking

  1. Finely grate a small piece of laundry soap (approximately 25 g).
  2. Fill soap shavings with hot water (two glasses). Mix thoroughly until the chips are dissolved. Leave to cool.
  3. Add one and a half tablespoons of mustard and soda powder to soapy water. Shuffle.
  4. Pour in two tablespoons of ammonia. Stir, close tightly with a lid, leave the product to "infuse" for three hours and use.

Powder

Features The tool eliminates persistent pollution and unpleasant odors, dissolves fat, has an antiseptic effect. Powder can be stored. The expense is small.

Cooking

  1. Make a mixture of sodium borate and soda powder (a glass of each substance).
  2. Add half a glass of citric acid and the same amount of fine salt to the mixture. The powder is ready.
  3. Store the product in a container with a tight lid.
  4. To wash the dishes, dilute half a teaspoon of the powder in a liter of warm water.
To clean the cast-iron skillet, tin baking dishes, metal ovens, mix with sodium borate to a paste-like consistency, apply it to a sponge and rub the surface. But powder can scratch an enameled or aluminum pan: it is better to make a solution and soak the dishes in it.

3 disadvantages

Hand made products do their job perfectly: kitchen utensils are pleasing in cleanliness and brilliance, there is no trace of fat. But homemade detergent compositions have three drawbacks.

  1. Waste of time. Be prepared to spend time preparing homemade detergent. Even if the composition is mixed in three minutes, you will have to cook it often, because most of the funds can not be stored for a long time, while others are completely prepared at once.
  2. Great expense. Homemade washing gel for dishes do tasks no worse than purchased ones, but they are consumed quickly and in large quantities. Shop-based products foam well, they are concentrated, while the hand-made “helpers” are created without a single chemical compound, which means that you have to pour a lot of liquid to wash, for example, fat or remove a persistent smell.Although this disadvantage is offset by the ease of preparation and the use of "cheap" components.
  3. Special storage conditions. Most homemade products are prepared at once. However, there is a formulation of powders and gels that allows you to prepare the composition for a week. It is not worth storing the product longer - it can lose its properties. For storage, you should always choose a dark, cool place, otherwise the effectiveness of the gel will decrease.

Having made a natural detergent, be prepared that you will have to wash your kitchen utensils with your hands, even if you have a dishwasher. Homemade pastes and gels "are not friends" with household appliances. If you can not imagine your life without this assistant, but at the same time dream of abandoning household chemicals, the fruits of the soap tree will come to the rescue. Soap nuts are sold in eco-shops and online stores. It is easy to wash the dishes with their help: you need to send about five fruits to the dishwasher and start normal operation. From nuts with prolonged contact with water, substances are released that are able to wash the dishes from fat, eliminate an unpleasant odor.
